Why join?
Let’s face it, we can all benefit from a challenge – whether for our own wellbeing or to build a sense of community. So here at The Challenge Hub we operate, host and promote challenges designed (often self-designed) for social purpose.
Our own signature challenges are:
-“The All in One” for over-55s. Inspired by The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award it calls for achievements in learning, physical activity and social contribution
-“The Loughborough Challenge” for those aged 25 to 54 who are experiencing issues of mental health or of mental / physical / sensory impairment – accessible also through www.theloughboroughchallenge.org.
You can learn more about these challenges below.
Also, any organisation or group wishing to design and run their own challenges can do so using our Corporate Challenge infrastucture – a sub-site integrated into the members’ area of this website – perhaps offering our “off-the-peg” challenges for “Mental Wellbeing at Work” or “The Live Longer Better Challenge” for the middle-aged.
To enable smaller communities and organisations to come together around a shared objective we also offer “The Charities Challenge” framework as a free-to-use alternative.
Not challenge-minded? Not a problem. We are not only about challenges. We also want to show what’s possible – the options open to you – and so have brought together in our members’ area multiple links to websites with ideas for:
- low-cost learning opportunities
- rewarding volunteer positions and
- ideas and opportunities for physical activity.
Our growing collection of Members’ learning, volunteering and physical activity experiences will give you ideas and inspiration. We would truly appreciate your contribution.
If you are eligible for The All in One (over 55) or for The Loughborough Challenge (disability / mental health) then please do register with us and see what’s possible. Those taking part in a Corporate Challenge or a Charities Challenge are automatically registered with us if aged over 18.
We are a not-for-profit organisation and there is no cost or complication.
Our Challenges:
We offer these challenges:
The All In One

A challenge for over-55s based on the three elements of learning, staying active and making a social contribution. DofE is all about youth. This is our version for the over-55s – an all-round structure and motivation for fun and self-development with its related health benefits.
The Charities Challenge™

The Charities Challenge enables people of all ages (Members and non-Members alike) to build a community – even of friends and family – around their own challenge, publicise through us and receive Certificates of achievement. It’s suitable also for one-to-one working, with ultra-personal challenges and external accreditation.
Why not form a social group, design and run your own Charities Challenge?
The Loughborough Challenge

The Loughborough Challenge is for those aged 25 to 54 (so too young for The All in One) who self-identify as experiencing issues of mental health or of mental / physical / sensory impairment. The rules are identical to those of The All in One and so The Loughborough Challenge offers the same ideal structure and motivation for fun and self-development with its related health benefits.
Corporate Challenges

We offer platforms which are integrated into this website and off which any organisation can run its own self-designed challenge(s) for its own charitable, commercial or social purposes. A modified version is available for fundraising.
Our Programmes

We encourage employers to offer firm foundations for productive and healthy retirement. Please visit our “Bridge to Retirement” page to find out more.
“Generations Together”

“Social Prescribing”
